INTERACTIVE BIRTHDAY
The Challenge:
Planning any multi-person event can soon turn into multiple text chains, emails, and calendar invites where some details can get lost by virtue of not having everything consolidated in one place.
The Solution:
To plan my own birthday party, I decided to create an interactive and responsive website and webapp where my guests could asynchronously access up-to-date details about the event, provide their own input, express their excitement, and more!
To do this, I first pulled in swipe from the outside world to create a general idea of the UX, (the same general process as brainstorming a new logo, or preparing for a photoshoot). I then moved on to a custom design with handmade illustrations. I also built out the interactive features, such as a joy counter (where guests could express love, celebration, and applause for the upcoming event), an interactive group chat, and a voting module where guests could vote for their preferred venue via a personalized log-in to ensure each person had an equal number of votes, using the Adalo platform’s integrated backend.
In order to protect my private details, and to serve as a demo site and app, what you see here is a re-worked version that follows the same basic structure.
Feel free to click around > this link and experience it for yourselves!
(*I have it set so that voting never closes, for the demo, but in a live build the results would be displayed. And if some of the layout elements seem out of place, that seems to be a bug in the Adalo platform).
Personal project.
