Hermès

One of my favorite things about the Hermès brand is that poetry and metaphor are baked into all of their visual communications. The season’s theme was Contemporary Artisan, and this campaign featured the ‘trace’ of the artist, underlining that high fashion is a work of art and a sophisticated creative expression, and craft.

Our campaign leveraged Instagram’s tagging and liking features to build a user-influenced ‘create-your-own-adventure’ style interactive adventure, where they could follow our Persol-clad hero through a cinematic, dystopian world.

Louvre

The greatest aspect of realizing this campaign was visiting the Louvre on a day the museum was closed to the public, and seeing the floors and walls open onto hidden channels of passageways, as seminal works of art were being relocated and updated.

The campaign itself was a creative approach to civility messaging, on the one hand employing symbols that would be understood in any language, as well as drawing attention to and advertising the different departments of the museum.

Lancel

Salvador Dali created a monogram, denominated the ‘Daligramme’, which launched a product line at Lancel starting in 2011. For this campaign we dialed up the visual cues and emotions Dali evokes in all of us, with a playful mustache adorning our favorite models, sporting the Daligrammed product.

Hermès launched a documentary film featuring their artisans which showcased the passion and labor infused into every product they sell. For this project I had the opportunity to meet the craftsmen themselves, listen to their stories, and see their eyes sparkle as they spoke with affection about their contributions to this process… all while finding the right hands for the job!

This poster speaks to the threads that create the products that the Hermès brand is known for, but also the threads between people as they collaborate in the creative process, and the invisible threads that connect us to the beauty of our environs, inspiring us every day to give the best of ourselves.

Forms inspired by the pose, connecting the physical and the emotional.

We sculpt our spaces in every moment, by the way we move and interact with each other. Through a two-step process, we started by capturing a series of photos of our models expressing themselves through dance and gesture. Using an overlay of stitched fabric on photo, we then used vectors, color, and texture to give form to the energy, impact, and movement these dancers had on their environments, and on each other.

Created from magazine cutouts and head fasteners, this font was developed while creating a style book for Christian Lacroix.

Avon

Avon’s Skin-so-Soft skincare line was launching a new product, Skindisiac Red, and needed marketing creative to publish in their catalogs, distributed to Avon sellers all over the globe.

For this project, I developed the creative concept, oversaw art direction of a photoshoot of the still-life product and floral environment, and oversaw post production. Model imagery was provided.

For the love of hair !

"The New Beautiful" challenges our relationship with body hair, and aims to playfully remind us that pilosity, which in today's society is viewed as being unsavory, is actually historically and biologically linked to sensuality.

With this series we have imagined a girl naturally doted with abundant body hair… and she loves it. It makes her feel sensual and empowered, because body hair is sexy!

Presented in the form of a beauty editorial, this series challenges our cultural fascination with transformation, a value that generally pushes women away from their natural beauty and towards a self-image only achievable through transformative consumer products, treatments, and surgical interventions. It’s always about finding the balance between curating and changing, and starts with self-love.

La Rinascente is a chain of high-end department stores in Italy. For their 2011 campaigns, which appeared both in-store as large department signage as well as in out-of-home advertisements, we dialed up the brand values of creativity, vibrancy, and high fashion.

Ever wondered what you’d look like with blue hands? Or if your pasta suddenly became an orchestra of colors? Colorful Lunch is a playful musing about how reality is perception, and can be as imaginative as you let it.

Marisol was a colleague and friend who happened to become infused with the superpowers of hyper color.

The last piece is half of a diptych which was created for and presented at the exhibition "Ma Chanson Préferée", with the Galerie Maison d'Art, in Osaka, Japan.

Ionéo is a brand of electric bikes. For this project I partnered with the entrepreneur as he was building his brand, ideating brand names, creating the logo, and illustrating educational materials.

Our first idea was to name the brand ‘yelo’ - it’s short and memorable, resonates as a call to action, is the color often used to represent electricity, and can be drawn to visually represent a bicycle. The name was already registered, however, so Ionéo became the winning option.

At the heart of the Accor brand lies its philanthropic missions, folded operationally under its Foundation. To represent this visually, we swapped the ‘O’ for a heart and created a tagline that communicates the Foundation’s core mission of bringing people together and promoting diversity.

She loves Sundaes, he loves Sundays.

We often feel in our relationships that we are so similar, and yet so different. This Valentine’s Day campaign seeks to underline the commonalities in our differences through a lighthearted play on words, bringing opposites together through a shared love for RayBan. #oppositesattract.

Aldo

#pairitup was our take on a Black Friday promotional social campaign. To highlight Aldo’s 50% off holiday sale, we connected with some of the hottest influencers and asked them to snap a pic with their favorite Aldo shoes and accessories, half of which was posted on their feeds and the other half on Aldo’s social platforms. The campaign teased users to click through and find the missing half of the promotion, either driving influencer audiences to discover Aldo, or showing Aldo audiences that the brand partners with some of the most influential tastemakers of today and tomorrow.

Top left. The City of Sciences and Industry (CSI) in Paris was hosting a career fair. These flyers announced the event and gave some insight into the topics that would be addressed.

Top right. This was a promotional flyer for the children’s section of the CSI encouraging school groups to visit the museum with frequency by offering one visit free for one with paid admission.

Bottom left. This was a direct marketing leaflet sent to push subscriptions for the economic magazine ‘L’Expansion’.

Hurricane Katrina was a Category 5 hurricane that made landfall in August 2005, causing catastrophic damage across the southern states, especially in Louisiana who’s state capital New Orleans was greatly devastated. The failed Federal emergency response program left the people of Louisiana greatly stranded in a time of need, exposing a breakdown in the system of trust between constituents and their government.

This design aims to visually represent the people of Louisiana, evoking the symbolism of the flag - on which each state is represented by a star, on a sea of blue, uniting them all. Here the star is isolated, the blue representing the flood, the federation that is bound to American caretaking is broken down, like a broken heart, as the people of Louisiana are denied the fundamental rights that bind us as a united people.

Wanda is a non-profit with the mission to help single mothers gain financial stability through education and support. In order to make good on that mission, Wanda needs the support of donors and partners who can financially and operationally provide the necessary means to build, deploy, maintain, and grow its programs. Wanda came to me to advise and concept a fundraising campaign, eager to connect with new audiences and get the word out during the holiday season.

Responding with three conceptual directions including “I’m Kinda Fonda Wanda”, with a focus financial fitness, “The Gift of Messages”, focused on testimonials, and “Welcome to Wanda”, focused on core statistics around Wanda’s mission, and a full-funnel strategy mapping out business goals and KPIs, we ultimately decided to pivot our focus to top-level brand and marketing strategy, but look forward to developing these directions in the future.

Institut des Cultures d’Islam

Interactive digital: Personal portfolios developed in Flash, with interactive elements coded in ActionScript, (such as ticker tape, personalized cursor, accelerating scroll on the interior pages, motion-animated interactive button), and interactive digital art created with HTML and CSS. I also managed the domain and hosting platforms (DNS, FTP, index files, etc), and published to web.

The Challenge:

The Equal Employment Opportunity department at the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation was in need of a digital transformation solution, to update its current Reasonable Accommodation workflow, which oversees the intake, assessment, case management, and response to requests.

The Solution:

I developed user flows, data tables and hierarchies, wire-frames, and performed client discovery and presentations towards the development of a software application destined to deliver real world outcomes for their department.

Project uncompleted. In house at the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, through the HRA sponsored POP program.

'Monsters and Us' is an on-demand clothing, accessories, and home goods collection featuring some of my personal hand-drawn illustrations. The collection is shoppable online, and was also shoppable via a dedicated personal mobile app.

The Challenge:

Toastmasters International is an organization that enables complimentary learning for working professionals and others interested in expanding their existing skillset, with a focus on public speaking and leadership.

Within the Toastmasters general program is a mentorship initiative that exists at the club level.

Mentorship programs provide an incredible learning opportunity for both mentors and mentees. However, an internal audit of the Mountain View Toastmasters Club Mentorship program revealed that participants were looking for more guidance on how to structure their interactions in order to optimize their experience, and results. The challenge, then, was how to best optimize the club mentorship program with these outcomes in mind.

The Solution:

The main needs that surfaced through the audit were: a need for consolidated resources, clarity on goal setting, and the means to track progress. I started by pulling together a 24 page deck that streamlined the goal setting, onboarding, and progress-tracking mentorship process, and co-created a Goal-Setting workshop in partnership with the Mentorship team. In parallel, I started to explore a mobile app solution to further facilitate access to resources and outcomes.

As Vice President of Education for my club, I was in charge of the mentorship program, in collaboration with the Mentorship Chair.

The mentorship project was a club project, with Mountain View Toastmasters.

The mobile app was a personal project, exploring the potential digital transformation of a mentorship program. It was not commissioned, supervised, nor reviewed by Toastmasters international, nor meant to reflect an intent on their part to pursue such a project.

With this personal initiative extracurricular project, I explored the process of translating an operationalized program into a user-facing workable mobile UX with backend integration.
